Spooktacular Saturday

Saturday was a Spooktacular Event at the Sunset Zoo in Manhattan. For a few hours, you could bring your child to trick-or-treat along with the animals. Kinley thought this was great fun! She was only allowed to have one sucker, much to her dissapointment, but she liked going to all the people and getting candy anyway.

The animals were neat to see too. Kinley liked the tigers and sloth bears and all the birds. Here is Kinley looking at something in the pond (I don't remember what).

Near the end of our adventure, we found the petting zoo. Tom took Kinley in with a little a brush. Kinley was really brave brushing and petting a little goat. She had no desire to pet a big pig that was taking a nap.

Here is Kinley in our apartment while we were getting ready. She was posing here showing me her costume. Notice the cute little tail. It shakes when she struts her stuff!

Rockin the Duds

Just wanted to show y'all Kinley rockin' her new boots (thanks Grandma). We had to adapt the outfit for the boots, and this is what we ended up with. Wish I could throw things together like this and look good:)

This is as still as I could get her for the picture. She kept jumping around showing off for the camera.

Look at those big eyes and cute dimple!

She's trying to get her baby out of bed, but she looks so tall here I had to show it.

Our ER Visit

Well, we had our first trip to the ER with Kinley on Monday night. Fortunately for us it was for me, not Kinley. I had an allergic reaction to something. We still don't know what. I was on the treadmill and started feeling weird and itchy. By the time I got up to the apartment, I was feeling pretty bad. I must not have looked too good because Tom called Dr. Bell (he helps us a lot) to see what we should do. He said go straight to the hospital; so we did. They took be back to a little room right away and started asking all kinds of questions. Once the doctor came in, they started an IV (Tom only got a little sweaty) and gave me 3 different medications. They started working right away, but it took a little quite a while for all the swelling in my face to go down. Luckily we were only there a couple hours and everything turned out well. I will probably never know what caused this, but I sure hope it doesn't happen again. They sent me home with a prednisone prescription and a pat on the back.
Today I was feeling much better. I was pretty weak all day. I think this was from all the chaos and shivering I was doing last night. The only strange thing was my hands and forearms were tired like I had been lifting heavy - pretty weird. All in all, I'm doing fine and am thankful Tom thought to call Dr. Bell. We both probably would have tried to tough it out and possibly made it worse. This was enough excitement for a while, so hopefully its really boring around here for a quite a while.

Sweet Baby

Most of you know that Kinley loves her babies. Lately she has been so funny with Baby (that's all their names right now). She will take her baby and hold it on her shoulder while she bounces saying "Shh, Shh, Shh." She'll give her some pats and a kiss and do this again and again. I guess when we were in Knoxville around all the little babies, she picked up on a few things. The other night I caught her doing this. If you listen closely, you can hear her telling Baby "night, night" and then the patting and "shh shh" begins. I find it really cute. I wonder if this is what I do, or her own evolution of everything she has seen.

A Day With Dad

Today Daddy took me to the park in town. I think mom must have been tired or something, but that's ok. Daddy and I had a great time!

Daddy pushed me on the big girl swing - I'm not a baby anymore. I think I can do this by myself, but I let Daddy feel useful.

I also got to drive the big boat. I'm really practicing to drive Daddy's car. I think he'll let me in a few months. I'm pretty good now.

I also got to slide on all the big slides. I really liked the twisty one. It was the most fun to go round and round.

We had a really great time! I tried to play with lots of kids, but they must have been scared of me or something. I was playing with one girl, but I accidentally threw sand her way and Daddy told me we had to go . Maybe next time there will be more kids my size I can talk to. Well, now you now about my day!

Fashion Show

I have a couple pictures I wanted to share with everyone. I'm guessing you'll be able to tell when I picked out the outfit and when Kinley did.

This is Kinley's fake picture smile

Sorry I don't know how to rotate this video.
I'll work on this for the future.
